Introduction

Hematological diseases are relatively rare disorders in the field of internal medicine. The number of hospitals in Hokkaido in which hematological diseases can be treated is quite limited. Therefore, many patients with blood diseases who are living in Hokkaido visit our Blood Disorders Center. We provide medical treatments for both malignant and non-malignant hematological diseases including acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), aplastic anemia (AA), and acquired hemophilia. The Blood Disorders Center of Aiiku Hospital is widely recognized as one of the leading hospitals in Japan.
